An interactive periodic table.

A senior design project for CollegeBoard, built so blind and low-vision students can use it too.

What it is

An interactive periodic table, sponsored by CollegeBoard as part of NC State’s Senior Design program. The goal is a table that blind and low-vision students can explore as easily as anyone else in the class.

Why it matters

The periodic table is one of the most visual things in a chemistry class: position, color, patterns across rows and columns. Making it explorable without sight means rethinking how that information gets presented, not just slapping labels on it.

How we’re building it

React and Next.js, built by a student team over Fall 2026, from early September to early December. I’m one of the frontend developers; teammates cover the data, the backend and project management.

Where it stands

Planning is done and the build is underway, so this page will grow as the project does.
